No. Our powders do not contain fillers or anti-caking agents
Vegetable glycerine is a sweet-tasting liquid produced from organic rapeseed which we use in our non-alcoholic extracts and syrups. It is often used in preparing alcohol-free herbal and mushroom extracts, or “glycerites”.
Yes. We specialise in white-label functional mushroom extracts
White label means that we produce mushroom extracts in bulk, and you sell them under your own brand.
We take care of the growing, extracting, and testing, and you focus on branding, marketing, and sales.
There are four main options:
Yes. We can supply unlabelled bottles for you to apply your own labels, or also offer a label application service for a small additional cost. Please get in touch for guidance on labelling and more information
Yes, we can support NPD from formulation and ingredient selection to stability testing and optimisation (additional costs may apply).
Yes! We are vertically integrated, meaning we do everything from strain selection to growing, extracting, and testing.
Exceptions:
Yes. All of our mushrooms and products are Soil Association Organic certified.
With the exception of Chaga (which is technically a sclerotia, or hardened mass of mycelia) and Cordyceps sinensis (which is grown as mycelium via liquid fermentation as fruiting bodies cannot be artificially cultivated), we only use the mushroom fruiting body. This is where the highest concentrations of key bioactive compounds are found, and it also keeps us aligned with current Novel Foods regulations in which mycelium for most species is not approved for sale in the UK/EU.
We control the full process—from cultivation to extraction—ensuring quality, traceability, and authenticity in a market often dominated by imported and inconsistently labelled products.
Yes. We conduct lab testing for:
• Heavy metals and microbiology (COAs available)
We have a 5* food hygiene rating, and are HACCP and SALSA aligned –– working towards full certification.
Yes. While we focus on white-label supply, we also offer products through our own brand. Please contact us for more information.
Not at the moment. It’s not something we’re set up to offer at a small, one-off level. However, if you’re building a brand or working on a product, we’d love to help — just get in touch.
We’ve taken our shop off the website to focus on what we do best — producing white-label mushroom extracts for other brands.
That means we grow, extract, and supply in bulk, while our partners handle branding and sales.
We do still pop up at markets and festivals though, so follow us on Instagram to see where we’ll be next and drop us an email if you’re looking for The Fungi Folks retail products!
It’s simple to get started at home. For one cup, take between 1-4g of dried mushrooms and chop or tear them into small pieces. Add them to a saucepan with water and bring to a gentle simmer. Let it simmer for at least 20 minutes — the longer you leave it, the richer (and more extracted) your tea will be. Once it’s ready, allow it to cool slightly, strain if you like, and enjoy.
